Functional Pottery

Blue & Turquoise Pottery

After art school I had the good fortune to live in Greece for a short while. The shades of turquoise and deep blues I found there worked their way gently into my soul.

When I got home I spent many hours testing and tweaking glaze formulas searching for these beautiful blues. I knew they would make wonderful glazes if I could only discover their secret formulas. Then one day, I opened my kiln and there they were

I find them both uplifting and energizing. Each time I open my kiln it's like opening a jewelry box filled with glittering treasure.

Pieces glazed with these beautiful colors will work their magic on you too. They'll brighten your home and lift your spirits. They are true gems.

Frog Pottery

While frogs have many symbolic meanings my favorite is that frogs represent transformation and change. The journey from egg to  tadpole to frog reminds me to keep growing and changing, to continuously dive into fresh creative waters. They are also symbols of good luck and long life. What's not to like about frogs?

There is something very special about using handmade pottery. The way a person cradles a mug close to their heart while warming their hands doesn't happen with mass produced wares. I enjoy creating these special pieces and know you will enjoy having them in your home too.

I  make playful shapes and items that one doesn't find everywhere. I think it provides an opportunity to present food in special and creative ways and what better way to show your friends and family how much they mean to you?

All of the functional pieces are made of high fired stoneware and the glazes are all lead free.

Alligator Green

Opening a second studio in Louisiana has brought with it a whole new set of inspirations! The food, the music and especially the wildlife are all waiting to be explored.

I love the variety of birds with their many colors and sizes. I sit by the pond watching the herons patiently hunting for small fish and frogs.

But my favorites are the alligators! They float along the bayou, sometimes with just their heads out and other times their whole bodies slowly paddling along with the gentle current.

They have inspired a whole new glaze palette which I’m calling ‘Gator Green"‘.
